Silver Strand Optometry is a legacy practice which has been providing family optometric eye care services to Port Hueneme, CA since 1950. The practice was founded by Dr. Moses, OD. It was then owned by Dr. Don Steensma, OD from 1986 to 2021. As of 2021, it is under new management with Dr. Kimberly Castillo, OD.

Dr. Kimberly Castillo is a California native who has been providing vision care services since 2009. She received her doctorate in Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences which is located in Pomona, CA. Dr. Castillo is an adjunct assistant clinical professor for the Pacific University College of Optometry, and she has also written a book which 70% of optometry students use to aid them in studying for their National Board exams. Furthermore, Dr. Castillo serves as a medical expert consultant for malpractice law. She is prepared to offer you services in primary care optometry, dry eye management, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma management, contact lenses, specialty contact lenses, and vision therapy.
