Husted Maytag Home Appliance

Husted Maytag Home Appliance Center was founded in 1961 by our parents Richard and Audrey Husted. Working out of our home dad would do in-home appliance repairs for local Ojai residents. In the beginning, the bulk of the business was appliance repair in our customer’s homes. Dad eventually converted our front porch into a sales floor by enclosing it with glass doors and placing a Maytag washer and dryer inside where folks could see the newest model of laundry machines available from the Maytag Corporation. As the business expanded, we found we could no longer work from home, so we set up shop in town with a showroom and warehouse. We’ve been in the same wonderful location since.
29 years later the sons of Richard & Audrey -Tom and Rick -are now the ones serving the residents of Ojai and Ventura with the same professional and personalized service their parents instilled in them & built the company on.
